Stratford/West Ham Walk and Workshop 11th August 2018
Would you like to learn about and find edible plants, fruits and berries, and transform them into jams, jellies and chutneys? Join us for a foraging walk around West Ham, followed by a jam making workshop at the Gainsborough Learning Centre kitchen.
Led by artist Clare Qualmann the walk will begin on the Greenway by Stratford High Street, going through Memorial Recreation Ground to the Gainsborough Road kitchen where we will transform our elderberries, sloes, blackberries, rosehips and apples, (plus other findings) into jams, jellies and chutneys.
The walk and workshop take place on Saturday 11th August, from 10am – 5pm. There is a token booking charge to prevent no-shows – if this makes it difficult for you to take part please email me for an entirely free place. The preserves that we make will feature in the East End Jamboree – a celebration of London jam, on Sunday 23rd September 2018 at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, as part of the Harvest Stomp event. Participants can take home a jar of their jam on the day too.
