invite to the Jamboree – Saturday 19th September

Join us on Saturday 19th September for a ‘Jamboree’, a celebration of jam made with the fruits of the urban environment!

The centrepiece of the Jamboree is the tasting table, spread with jams, jellies, chutneys and other preserves made during the project, alongside a selection of ‘London’ jams to buy from small-scale urban makers. There’ll also be the opportunity to talk to some of the jam workshop participants and hear about where the fruit came from, as well as how the preserves were made.

At 2.15pm I’ll give a short talk about the East End jam project, followed by a talk from Jason Irving (professional forager) at 2.30pm about urban foraging.

At 3pm Jason and I will lead a foraging walk around the park, returning to the Jamboree base at 4.30pm.

Jamboree is part of the Harvest Stomp at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and runs from 12 noon – 6pm, we’ll be located near to the Timber Lodge Cafe in the north of the park.
